Blog 1: My autobiography

Hey everyone!


Welcome to your first English blog! For the first post, the subject is autobiography.


Here is my autobiography as an example:

I was born in Santiago, Chile. My mother is from New York and my father is from Chile (I only met him once when I was a baby). My parents met during the dictatorship and both were members of the MIR. I did a DNA test to see my ancestry and on my mother's side I am of Lithuanian and Polish Jewish descent and on my father's side I am of Spanish, Mapuche, and German decent. My mom, brother, and I moved to New York when I was 2 years old and lived there for a year. We then moved to Boston, where I lived for many years. I studied in two primary schools, Williams Elementary School and Brown Middle School. I studied in Newton South High School for secondary education.

I studied Latin American Literature for 3 years at Eckerd College in Florida and 1 year in the School of Philosophy and Humanities at the University of Chile. After that, I studied at the British-Chilean Institute of Culture to become an English teacher.

I did my internship at the Colegio Latinoamericano de Integración and worked 3 years in the School of Economics and Business at the University Diego Portales. 

I started working at the University of Chile in 2016 and currently I love it!

I live with my baby cat Idania, she is three years old we live in Ñuñoa since January 2022, before that I lived 8 years in Downtown Santiago. 

I love to read, listen to music, watch Netflix/Disney+, and hang out with friends. I speak Spanish, English, Portuguese, Italian, and currently I'm studying French :D

Hi everyone! I hope you are all doing well! Today we are going to talk about why you chose the career that you're studying right now. I remember when I was younger I wanted to be a rabbi XD. I don't know why I did, but then after a while I realized that I would like to teach languages since I loved learning them myself. Blog 3: My favorite piece of technology

Hey everyone!  Today we are talking about technology :) I think my favorite piece of technology is my cellphone. I use it for many things such as listening to music, talking to friends and loved ones, checking social media, taking pictures, sending emails, and even buying things online. I never use it at work unless it is to check things related to work.  I am always listening to music whether  I'm walking or taking the bus or the metro. It entertains me during long and tedious trips. I also use it when I go out on long walks throughout the city (I've walked to the Parque Bicentenario from Santiago) At home, I use it to read because it keeps me focused, which I know sounds weird because music usually distracts people. Something very weird is that I try to listen to a full album when I go on long trips or when I read. I love using my cellphone and I recommend using it, but not too much so you do not get addicted! Blog 5: A photograph you like

H i everyone! I hope you are well Today we're going to talk about a photo that you like. I took this photo June 18th of last year and it is my favorite photo of the year hehe. I like it because it is on my balcony and I took advantage of the natural light. It is of me and my daughter (cat) named Idania. She loves to sit on my lap when I sit and she jumped on me when I sat down and I decided to take a picture of us because it was a nice sunny day. A friend of mine says that it reminds her of a meme, I don't know.  I really love this picture because it has no filter and I think that nowadays people are always looking for perfection when they post photos on social media and this photo is of natural perfection lol. I mean, I didn't edit or use filter so I think that makes it special. The photo also reminds me of my close relationship with my beautiful cat, who is really a puma! Now it's your turn to share!
